I am now beginning to lay down my base coat of color. I have to decide
what I want her to be holding before I add her eyes........mmmmm, any suggestions.

Now the head started out being needle sculpted then I decided
to hide the seams with paper clay and as you can see I got totally
carried away and covered the entire head.....hehehehe!

I recently purchased this PAINTING BOOK by Josephine Wall,
my goodness what absolutely gorgeous paintings in this awecome work of art.

she came out, .she will go in my newly decorated bedroom.

we have a Motherhood Challlenge going on.

I decided to step outside the box and do somethingvery different for me. I have two children,
my son Scott and my daughter Tara.

I created a paper doll tribute to my Tara's love of Chocolate. I just finished this piece last night.

I don't often talk about my family but this Mothers Day my heart was filled

to its breaking with pride and so much love.

We recently moved my son SCOTT and his wife MONICA to Florida.

My daughter TARA, son in-law ALEXand my precious grandson JOSHUA live here already.

My daughters best friend MARIE and her daughter SHONTAY just recently

moved her..........so we are one very HAPPY FAMILY.

My heart just overflowedwith tears and joy. We celebrated everyone moving to Florida,

Easter and Mothers day all in one.

We colored easter eggs, too much fun, all the giggles and jokes. Food was fantastic.

It was truly a glorious day for the LEES FAMILY.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Mothers Day.

#2 What I am working on now!

This one is way out of my comfort zone which is the best reason
to create her. I am in a Queen Anne Challenge on my group
called MAIDA. This is the beginning effort, we shall see, paper
clay is not easy to work with, yikes! But it is a major learning
experience for me........stay tuned for the finish.

Here is what I have been working on since the Prim Challenge.
Our Doll Club Program(go down a few collages to see the
examples made by the program ladies). Here is mine
so far, its not done but a good start, this was fun to
make out of my zone but fun. Now it needs embellishing,
that is the fun part for me....beads and more beads.

STITCHIN SISTERS DOLL CLUB NATURE CHALLENGE

The doll club I belong to in New Port Richie is a very attive club. The two ladies you see Marion Brady and Rose Portman see created this club called the Stitch Sisters Doll Club.

Darlene Sperber our Program coordinator came up with 2 six month long challenges. Our first one was from January to June......the Nature Doll Challenge.

We had to use as many items from nature as we could creating a doll. This called for alot of imagination on my part. It was way out of my comfort zone to create this doll.

Look at the results of this fun challenge Everyone that participated had tons of fun and created very interesting dolls I might add.

Our next challenge is to create a doll from a favorite book or movie.........oh boy this is going to be alot of fun. We will show these at our Christmas Party in December.

We meet at the New Port Richie Library the third Saturday of every month at 12:00. Bring a bag lunch.

NATURE DOLL CHALLENGE

Our Stitchin Sisters doll club in New Port Richie, Fla did a 6 month challenge, we do 2 a year. The first 6 months was to make a doll using mostly natural items. This was one of the most challenging things I have done lately. Once I got started I could not stop and I loved it. Her body is a stump doll, She has leather wrapped around the suede stump. I also cut out several pieces of the design to use in different places on her garment. Then fabric added, A pine cone bostia tip and flowers on the side. Wooden beaded necklace and embellishments. I used a pony tail scrunchie for her hair worked out fantastic for the look I was going for. Rope like items from trees at the base and around her head. Palm Frongs for wings. Not too bad for not knowing what I was doing.
